Thoughts about this journal

Not happy with what was written earlier, I put them in drafts for now.

                          ——————

The reasons for this journal are threefold: our arts do not tell the truth of the human condition; I am loath to conform to the vision / literary agendas of other editors, however high the quality of their material, as I have a vision and pertinent writings of my own:

The burden of Art, especially Poetry, is the establishment – and defense – of Human reality.

Those poets and writers who avoid including the supernatural in their work, avoid the truth of the human condition, and thus lack an essential ingredient of genuine art.  If relationship and union with Deity is an aspect of human reality, if there is coming up for all humankind a day when we shall stand before this Deity to give an account for our lives, and if there are destinies that involve unending existence in realms of, on the one hand, horror, and on the other, glory of being, then to neglect these things is not only unworthy the arts, but criminal.

We, however, will proceed in this vein.

If there are depths within the human being that are unexplored or ignored, then we remain ignorant of who and what we are.  One purpose of art is to reveal what is hidden, not only without, but within.  Artists who are not seers of these things ought to quit the world stage, depart the arena of consciousness, for lack of vision — blindness! — in this realm is dangerous.
